Squadron Jobs - Site Updates!

Published on May 27

Thanks to our long time followers and welcome to new visitors. Some updates on where we are going:

Our goal is to be the #1 platform for military aviators, maintainers, and operations support folks to find post-military jobs and conversely, for companies to find separating and retiring military aviation talent.

For both sides, sites like LinkedIn and Indeed are too general for our community, while even niche sites like ClearanceJobs and AVJobs don't really connect the two audiences. The idea is to have a single platform that reduces friction for both parties - less time to find a job/talent and less expensive for firms while being free for vets.

Although we are off to a good start, achieving this goal will take a little more time and a little more development of our tech stack through Summer 2025, so please bear with us. We list a mix of jobs that are submitted directly by firms using our free promotion right now and also some that are automatically filled. Unfortunately, our auto-job robot is a little bit like a second lieutenant and it occasionally gets lost or doesn't execute properly, which requires some SNCO and FGO level cleanup. This takes place monthly when we review and post our monthly job round ups on social media.

The most important thing right now is actually the community building centered around Squadron Jobs so we can keep proving the concept to employers that this talent marketplace works. As that network effect builds out, we can then justify potential future investment in software and hire beyond our volunteer team.

Practically, the best way to track hot jobs is when we manually curate our monthly posts that we share on LinkedIn and Instagram. You can also DM us on either site and we will always give our best personalized advice to veterans. In the meantime, we are also sharing some hot jobs that are connected to our early adopter corporate partners so we can track our network effects. We are proud that we have been able to increase applications for partners and directly contributed to a hard to fill pilot billet being staffed. For many roles, we can connect you directly to hiring managers.

Like any community, Squadron Jobs will become more useful the more members of our military aviation community use the site. For now, the biggest thing that helps is social media engagement and sharing/referring roles and our site. If you are interested in volunteering, particularly if you have ideas on how to bring together folks from Navy/Marine/Army aviation and their maintenance communities, please reach out. Our plan is to expand from a core audience around fighter aviation to military aviators generally, then adding more curated jobs for our maintenance and operations support brothers and sisters.

Thanks again and please feel free to send us your feedback, thoughts for product features, and questions through DM or at aircrew@squadronjobs.com
