Capability Unit
Metrea Strategic Mobility (MSM) operates a fleet of KC-135 aircraft, offering an air-to-air refueling service that seamlessly, safely, and professionally integrates into military aviation training and operations.
Position Summary
The Ground Duty Air Refueling Operator (ARO) is responsible for cargo loading and unloading, overseeing the inventory of aircraft equipment, the organization of the crew briefing room at KRIV, and downloading audio and video cards to a secure server. The Ground Duty ARO will update the ARO aircrew members within Metrea Strategic Mobility (MSM).
Role and Responsibilities
- Create Pre-flight, through-flight, and post-flight inspections, checklists, and documentation.
- Computing/loading weight and balance data.
- Operational checks of onboard camera/recording systems.
- Adhere to company Flight Operation Procedures (FOP’s), Ground Operation Procedures (GOP’s), and Safety Notices.
- Has to be able to do calculations for weight versus balance and other important load data to help ensure safe aircraft operation.
Skills and Experience
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED
Experience:
- 5 years as a KC-135 Boom Operator
- 1000 total hours
- Air Force Certified Instructor Boom Operator
Skills:

- Strong safety ethic and experience.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.

Computer Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Certifications:
- Air Force Certified Instructor Boom Operator.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Current US Passport.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time/part-time position with varying working hours to meet the US government's customer requirements and department and business needs. Exempt employees must have the ability to be on-call and available as required by business needs. Non-exempt employees may be required to work over 40 hours per week with approval from the department manager.
