Capability Unit
As a Capability Unit within Metrea, Metrea Spectrum Operations (MSO) provides tactical Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) services, with a dedicated focus on Signals Intelligence and Electronic Warfare training and mission support.
Position Summary
This role is primarily responsible for providing Signals Intelligence (SI) expertise and support in an operational capacity in support of U.S. government missions overseas. Additional work may include serving as a SI systems maintainer, airborne SI operator, SI liaison officer, SI collection manager, and serving as an instructor on SI and Electronic Warfare (EW) technology, tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs). This work may also involve classroom instruction and training on a volunteer basis.
Role and Responsibilities
- Serve as a SI SME and liaison to US government personnel and provide assistance with SCONOPS and guidance on SI collection missions, operations, and TTPs.
- Conduct airborne SI missions on US contractor owned, contractor operated Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) aircraft.
- Advise, mentor, and train active-duty SI personnel on SI/EW technology, equipment, operations and TTPs.
• Coordinate with theater level mission managers and national resources to support inflight SI troubleshooting, resource allocation, and tethered SI operations.
- Facilitate SI equipment repair, calibration, maintenance, storage, and procurement.
- Maintain and continually increase proficiency in SI equipment, technologies, and TTPs.
- On a volunteer basis while CONUS, conduct training in a classroom and/or exercise environment on Alpha28 courses including, but not limited to, Radio Frequency theory, advanced communications technology, SI collection and analysis, airborne SI and EW operations, and advanced TTPs focused on planning and executing SI support to Special Operations Forces.
Skills and Experience
- 6 years’ Signals Intelligence experience, including at least 180 days’ real world deployment experience conducting Signals Intelligence operations.
- Must have served on active duty with the US military and received an Honorable Discharge (DD214 required on request).
- Must possess extensive real-world experience in tethered and untethered Signals Intelligence Operations.
- Must possess strong technical proficiency in Signals Intelligence operations, TTPs, equipment, and associated technologies, to include, but not limited to: radio frequency theory, LINUX, computer networking, antenna employment, and HF/VHF/UHF, DMR, GSM, CDMA, UMTS, LTE, and 802.11 protocols.
- Must possess strong working proficiency in the operations and maintenance of typical US GOTS airborne SI systems.
- Must possess the ability to maintain and quickly gain proficiency in emerging SI/EW equipment, technologies, and TTPs.
- Must possess above average initiative and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision or guidance.
- Must possess strong communications skills and a solid command of the English language, both oral and written, and be comfortable with public speaking and instructing classes.
Required Certificates and Licenses
- FCC Amateur Radio Technician License.
- Valid Driver’s License.
Preferred Certificates and Licenses:
• Previous or current Mode 1/2/3/5/6 airborne operator certifications.
• Security + or equivalent certification.
• Linux Academy Fundamentals or equivalent course completion.
• Alpha28 HF, DPTT, CANO, Tech SIGINT Course Graduate

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
The daily working hours for this position vary Monday through Sunday. Hours and work shifts may vary in accordance with business needs. This role will be scheduled to forward deploy/work approximately 60-75 days OCONUS followed by rotation off-site for approximately 60-75 days. Rotation schedule may be adjusted to meet program requirements.

Travel requirements are 50% - OCONUS deployment.

Work Environment
This role operates in an environment that varies from a clerical, office setting using standard office equipment to austere settings with various weather and temperature conditions to include extreme heat, humidity and cold.
