Capability Unit
Metrea Algorithmics (MAX) provides unique engineering services, cloud-based cyber operations infrastructure, advanced tactics, techniques and procedures training, and a full suite of wireless communications survey and reconnaissance sensors that enable real-time multi-domain awareness while enhancing command and control.
Position Summary
As a Metrea Algorithmics Software Engineer, you will be assisting in the design and development of the core MAX software applications and products. You will take part in the integration of COTS components and the development of proprietary software on a team of software developers. You will also support mission operations, testing and reporting. The position will require full stack and cloud development as well as a basic understanding of networking functionality and embedded development. Tasks required will vary from day to day and the developer will support internal and external customers by integrating products and services.
Role and Responsibilities
- Development and integrate MAX components and systems
- Integrate COTS components into a larger system
- Develop software for embedded, desktop and Web technologies
- Support mission operations of MAX products and services
- Research of COTS and perform engineering trade-off analysis and risk assessment
- Support documentation requirements
Skills and Experience
- Experience or understanding of software development and networking
- Ability to quickly learn challenging concepts, decompose difficult software problems and provide resolution
- Familiarity with cloud development and deployments
- Familiarity with database and query languages
- Familiarity with Linux operating systems
- Familiarity with network protocols
- Experience with Docker, Android and, Linux
- Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize work and maximize productivity
- Familiarity with Embedded systems and development within those systems
- Computer Skills: Python, JAVA, C#, C++, TypeScript, JavaScript, Docker, Ansible, Linux, familiarity with CI/CD, GitLab, AWS, Microsoft Office, Database design, Cloud Architecture/Application Design
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science or equivalent field experience of 20 plus years
- 15-20 plus years of experience in software development with some experience working with embedded systems.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time non-exempt position with typical working hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Hours and work shifts may change in accordance with department and business needs. Exempt Employees must have the ability to be on-call and available, as business needs require. Non-Exempt employees may be required to work over 40 hours per week with approval from the department manager.
