Group Overview
Aerospace Engineering Group (AERO) is responsible for developing and delivering Metrea’s aviation engineering and integration capabilities, focusing on aircraft modification, system integration, and technical project management. AERO takes mission requirements and transforms them into operational assets by designing, engineering, and integrating new systems and technologies. The group manages aviation project lifecycles, from concept to testing, ensuring aircraft modifications meet performance, safety, and airworthiness standards. With a unified structure, AERO leverages its engineering expertise and project management capabilities to enhance Metrea’s aviation fleet, supporting a range of specialized operations through innovation and technical excellence.
Position Summary
The ISR Systems Engineer provides leadership and expertise in developing new and sustaining engineering product deliverables through all development phases. The ISR system engineer will leverage quantitative approaches for design, system and technology integration activities, to demonstrate visible and measurable progress for successful delivery of deliverables in compliance with FAA, military and/or customer guidelines.
This person will participate in the leadership of R&D from within the cross-functional team that identifies opportunities, develops and manages requirements, generates system and component concepts, implements the solutions in hardware and software, performs experiments, analyzes data, and ensures robust verification and validation testing along with cost risk and life-cycle management.
Role and Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional project teams in the design and development of aircraft and systems modifications process from concept to certification.
- Work with engineers, vendors, end users, and marketing to define and evaluate new innovative product concepts to address unmet customer and business needs.
- Support program management with strong project management skills to effectively manage the product deliverables.
- Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary team.
- Facilitate engineering change request quorum to manage the project scope and defects,
- Work cooperatively with Head of A3, Design and Certification Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, and Solutions on project deliverables to ensure all phases of the projects are successfully executed and completed on time.
- Work with Head of A3 to ensure all project documentation and the Design History Files are in order according to the Design Control Procedure.
- Work with Quality and Aircraft Certification to support regulatory activities, as well as responding to internal and external audits (i.e., FAA, DoD, other regulatory bodies).
Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
- 10 years of experience in Engineering and ISR Systems
- Deep understanding and utilizing various ISR technologies, such as airborne sensors, satellites, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and ground-based sensors.
- Strong data processing and analysis skills, including the ability to extract actionable intelligence from raw data.
- Ability to integrate ISR capabilities into overall mission planning and execution.
- Ability to adapt to dynamic operational environments and making informed decisions based on real-time intelligence.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time exempt position with typical working hours of Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Hours and work shifts may change in accordance with department and business needs. Exempt Employees must have the ability to be on-call and available, as business needs require. Non-Exempt employees may be required to work over 40 hours per week with approval from the department manager.
