Capability Unit
Metrea Airborne Asset Alteration (A3) Cell is part of Metrea’s AERO group focused on aircraft modification and system integration in support of Metrea’s Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) and other operations, conducted by our Special Air Missions (SAM) Group, and in support of our Air Mobility Group (AIRMOB).
Position Summary
The A3 Cell Project Manager is responsible for managing all programs assigned, generation of statements of work and other supporting proposal documentation. This individual is responsible for new product development engineering, certification, testing, modification support, operational of all Metrea aircraft.
Role and Responsibilities
- Overarching responsibility including:
- New product development – owner of all new engineering development projects;
- Modification – provides support to the Production team during aircraft modification phases, and ensures compliance with engineering aircraft configuration control;
- Certification – oversees certification activities ensuring compliance with all elements of FAA part 21, Military aircraft certification requirements, and component qualification efforts;
- Testing – ensures accomplishment of ground and flight testing to meet the requirements of mission system and/or certification programs; and
- Process and tools – champions the development of new processes and tools to continuously pursue productivity and quality improvements within the organization.
- Directs and/or creates program documents such as specifications, statements of work, and purchase orders.
- Evaluates and directly manages suppliers including parts and technical services.
- Creates, evaluates, and communicates schedules for projects and the organization as a whole, communicating regularly with other Metrea stakeholders to meet company goals.
- Develops and tracks budget for individual projects and the organization, including forecasting and tracking of estimates vs. actuals
- Works closely with Operations organization to support deployed aircraft, collaborate on aircraft upgrades, and receive feedback on the deployment of new capabilities.
- Directly supports Production organization for ongoing aircraft modifications and compliance with engineering instructions.
Skills and Experience
Experience:
- 10+ years of relevant experience working with military and/or special mission aircraft
- Extensive experience with project and/or program management
- Demonstrated experience growing and leading technical teams in an aerospace environment
- Experience with business functions of leading a project and/or team including schedules, budgets, SOWs, and supplier management
Skills:
- Experience of aircraft modification and integration.
- Must be able to manage a heavy workload and prioritize.
- Must maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a focus on collaboration.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Computer Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET accredited college.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Current US Passport.
- Must be able to hold & maintain a Top Secret (or higher) clearance level.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position with typical working hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Hours and work shifts may change in accordance with department and business needs. Exempt Employees must have the ability to be on-call and available, as business needs require. Non-Exempt employees may be required to work over 40 hours per week with approval from the department manager.
